Times are tough especially for the airlines, with gas prices going up and up and up going down and down and down they are bound to collect fees such as check baggage fees.

We the people understand that and are more than willing to pay those fees.

However Airlines are now trying to make extra money on aisle and window seats by charging extra for them. For example Delta now has Choice Seats and has taken away preferred seats from their most loyal of fliers their Medallion Members.

Being a Silver Medallion for only the past few months, I probably don’t have much to complain about but I do find it disgusting that Delta tries to make it seem as it is some kind of benefit for their loyal medallion members when it actually isn’t.

It also devalues their Skymiles program. Why should I fly only Delta to gain status when I can easily pay 5, 10 or 15 dollars extra to get that precious seat in the emergency exit row or front of the plane? Instead of flying Delta all the time I can fly the cheapest airline which isn’t always Delta.

I think the dumb ass in corporate who came up with this Idea at Delta has the same mentality that drove some of our nations banks into the ground.

You know what Delta, I tried to stay 100% loyal with you guys this year, I only flew on a competitors Airline twice and it wasn’t my choice to fly the competition. But 2009 is a new year and I may cheat and I may cheat a lot enough to where my medallion status won’t continue into 2010.

Thank you Delta for making us your medallion members feel un-wanted, and to think the company I work for was actually thinking of getting one of those corporae jets you guys charter. I’ll vote againstit for sure.
